In The Shop This Week Knabe and Sohmer

All the strings are on the Knabe (Knabe 40) .  The action restoration is underway.  It will be receiving a beautiful set of imitation ivory keytops.  I think this will look fabulous with this piano!  Tomorrow it will get its first tuning since its sat a few days to acclimate.  Getting very close on this one.  Also there is a very rare Sohmer Symetri-grand (Sohmer #77) in the shop.  It is receiving a satin ebony finish.  This piano came to me very rough so its been a workout to get it into shape.  Got the case finished (check out the pictures).  This particular model piano was the first baby grand ever built.  This particular one was built in 1896.  Its been a little while since I've posted but check back for some new things I've got in mind for the site!
