Wurlitzer Cabinet Spinet

Here is a very rare and unique Spinet piano by Wurlitzer. What's really neat about it is when its closed up it doesn't look like a piano.

I will be doing some reconditioning on this piano. Not sure yet how extensive but follow along and let's see how this piano transforms.

Will be putting a new set of Vagias imitation ivories on to replace this chipped keyset.

You can see here and feel the worn key bushings. Those will get replaced so that the piano feels like it was brand new!

Now that all the keys are out you can see that it's been some time since a major service for this piano.

Another shot of the action

The bridal straps were done. New ones will take over and assist in the actions proper function.

Dampers are original and need replacement. They are no longer soft.

I'm on the fence about the hammers. Looks like they can be reshaped. I will have to think on this one.

You can see the groves from the strings easily here. This piano did get played in its past.

Here is the little guy before I got started on it.

Here is a sample of the Vagais keytop next to the originals.

You can see the simulated grain in this picture.
