I am pleased to write a letter of recommendation for Robert Beavers and Beavers Pianos. I have been working with Robert on a Piano restoration for almost a year. I bought a piano that needed to be restored and that is how I first met Robert. Unfortunately, I bought a piano that needed extensive repairs that Robert felt were not cost efficient. His suggestion was to use the piano the way it was or find another piano. His honesty could have easily cost him the entire job. Instead, I asked him to find a piano that would be worth restoring. In the months to follow, Robert found a fantastic piano from the early 1900’s and worked to bring it back to its original beauty. And if all of that was not enough, he conspired with me to deliver the piano on my wives birthday as a surprise! He was knowledgeable, honest, helpful, and most of all talented. I would recommend Robert Beavers to anyone in need of a piano, I consider him a professional. –Mark McClain
I am writing to thank you for the superb job in refinishing my Steinway concert grand piano.
The piano is very special to me, because it was the Atlanta Symphony’s concert piano. It obviously was treated very specially by you.
I frankly did not think it was possible to do the beautiful mahogany finish that you did. This was not the usual job of refinishing an ebony piano, but of changing an ebony piano to show the mahogany wood underneath. Your work was perfect. Everyone assumes it is a new piano, until I tell them otherwise.
You are welcome to use this letter to tell other customers about your work. It’s superb!
With kindest regards,

Robert Beavers was a tenant at the Waxhaw Antique Mart, located at 101 W.S. Main St. in Waxhaw, N.C. from September 1998 through December 1999. From our observation he is a man of sincere integrity and honesty and of outstanding character. He has always been polite and paid his rent timely.Mr. Beaver’s work is impeccable. We have seen his pianos before and after refinishing. To my knowledge there were never any complaints about his work. He is a perfectionist. -Dee Cockinos
Murray and I want to thank you for the wonderful job you did restoring my grandfather’s 1906 piano.
I inherited an old Heintzman upright grand piano when my Mom sold her home early this year. Over the years someone had “antiqued” it in the mistaken belief it enhanced some room decor. I read about you and your Dad in the Charlotte Observer last fall and kept the article.
You restored this wonderful piano to it’s original red mahogany satin finish and it positively glows. We can’t thank you enough for the care you took with this instrument.
Good luck with your business. If anyone wants to see your work, please feel free to call us.

For approximately three years, I have been associated with Robert Beavers. During that time, I have had the privilege of viewing his life from several aspects. Robert has proven himself to be a well rounded individual. As a husband, he is a dedicated family man who works hard to provide for his family. His sense of responsibility and caring attitude extends from his family life into his business life.
It certainly has been my pleasure to have a business association with Robert. He has an uncanny business sense. I have found him to be honest ambitious, and, yet humble. He constantly strives to improve himself and his business. Robert’s magnetic personality is only part of the reason he has formed good customer relationships. He completes each job in a timely fashion and to the customer’s satisfaction. He has met every finacial obligation to me on time. A good leader, Robert sets his goals and remains focused to reach them.

I want to thank you for the excellent work your company has done on my wife’s piano. As you may recall, it was given to her by her aunt, and was originally her grandmother’s. Quite frankly, when it was given to her, it looked so bad that I did not think it was salvageable. Because of the sentimental value, however, we were willing to let you give it a try.
The final product of your work far exceeded our expectations. The instrument is much more than presentable – it is beautiful.
The whole experience of doing business with you has been a pleasure. If I can ever provide a reference for you, I would welcome the opportunity; not only for your craftsmanship, but also for the professionalism and honesty you exhibit in your dealings. –Norman J. Godbold, Jr.
My Fischer Brothers grand piano was purchased by my parents in 1925 when I was 6 years old. During 75 years of my piano playing the finish and appearance deteriorated but most keys remained workable, volume remained uniform, and tuning was seldom needed.
Professional piano rebuilder Robert Beavers examined it in March 1999 and concluded that it could be rebuilding into a reconstructed piano that my daughter could inherit and use in the years ahead. He prepared a 3-page step-by-step plan of reconstruction. He presented favorable letters from families in Charlotte and Atlanta for whom he had completed similar projects. We accepted his proposal.
Beavers is an experienced business manager as well as piano rebuilder. He detailed in writing exactly what he proposed to do and what this would cost. His services were complete – pick-up, dismantling, reconstruction, supplying new parts, refinishing to customer’s selection, redilivery, assembly, site position, trial playing, retuning. He and his workers were and are courteous and helpful. Customer’s pianos are insured while in his shop.
Our reconstructed piano is beautiful in our living room, plays well, and doubtless will give excellent performance for years ahead. –H. Milton Short, Jr.

I bought a beautifully restored 1928 Bechstein L from Mr. Beavers in the early 2000’s. The instrument plays wonderfully, and my technician here in Charlotte says it’s his favorite piano. I have to kick him out of the house after he tunes it or else he hangs around all day playing it. I have had zero mechanical issues.
Mr. Beavers was a great guy to deal with.
