Mehlin Victorian Vertical #154 Atlanta (Intro-Teardown)

It has been a long time coming but I'm finally able to get started on this project. In the pictures you see I'm going through the tear down which includes removing all of the panels and keybed.I will remove the strings and tuning pins and look at the action parts to make a parts order because this piano is getting an entirely new action.Hopefully by day's end I will package up the bass strings which are the originals and send them off for string duplication.imageimageimageimageimageimageIn a couple of those pictures you can notice before and after on the cleaning interestingly enough I found a few old coins I will set aside for the customer when this piano is finished and delivered.imageimageimageimageHave a few more pictures to add of some additional work. Removed the keybed and strings and sent off the bass strings for duplication.imageimageimageI love it when the original stringing scale is hand written on the plate. With this original scale the owner will be able to hear music that sounds very similar to what this oiano originally produced.imageimageIts hard to see in these photos but the entire treble scale is accounted for and most likely written on this plate by the person who originally strung this piano back in 1891.imageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimage
